MAKInterface - Settings



Mode Configuration

The modes, MAKInterface is working at, are set by jumpers.

J1      a = RX normal
a = RX inverted
  
J2      a = DETection (CTS, DSR,DCD,RNG) normal

J5      a = Clock/DTR normal

J7      a = Jumper => FSK decoder active
b = Jumper => Oscillator off (for saving power when not used)
  
J8      a = Jumper => RX is connected to RNG (DumbMouse compatibility)
b = Jumper => RTS is connected to CTS (for Handshake emulation)
 
J9 - J10      Select the output for C1-Pin5 (DETection). cts,dcd,rng or dsr
  




Connector Lines

The lines are associated to the connector as follows:

1.    RX
RX line from the device to the RS232.
In case, Half-Duplex Protocol is desired, the lines 1 (RX) and 2 (TX) should be connected together. The internal adjustment is done automatically.
2. TX
TX line from the RS232 port to the device.
3. 5Vr
This line delivers 5V throw a 10Kohm resistor, it can be used as switching voltage.
4. GND
Ground
5. CTS or DSR or DCD or RNG
Line from device to the RS232. Only one line should be selected.
6. RTS
RTS line from the RS232 port to the device.
7. DTR or crystal clock signal
DTR line from the RS232 port to the device, or 3.58MHz
8. 5V
This line delivers 5V, used for example for smartcards power supply
9. 12V
This line delivers 12V for PIC CPU programming. The 12V are switched (and taken) from the TX line (as needed for Ludipipo/Com84 standard).
10. FSK Input
Input for the HamCom compatible FSK decoder for decoding digital radio signals.
